Sylvie Léget is a freelance photographer based in Geneva, Switzerland. She began her career studying art and then pursued as a humanitarian worker. Both influences continue to be present in her photography work.

She studied at the International Center of Photography in New York and was shortlisted in several competitions. Her pictures were used in feminine and humanitarian publications and her work is displayed on LensCulture. Different parts of her work "Giving birth in exile" were presented in 2017 during the event "No'Photo" in Geneva and in 2018 during the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH).

Sylvie is interested in subjects related to intimacy, moments of transition, the loneliness inherent to big cities and social issues.

In her documentary work, Sylvie sheds light on people whose everyday struggle remains mostly hidden to public eyes. She’s instinctively drawn to portray women, particularly the most vulnerable. Her ongoing long-term project documents the intimate and challenging lives of female asylum seekers and focuses on motherhood and exile.
